Digital Designer

Job description

As a Digital Designer at Ask Phill, you have the opportunity and responsibility to create scalable website designs for our clients. You'll be instrumental in designing custom Shopify Themes which will be efficiently implemented and scaled by our team of Developers and Shopify Consultants.

This role requires not just design expertise but also a solid understanding of web development principles. You'll work closely with our development team, translating design concepts into implementable solutions and collaborating on technical feasibility throughout the design process.

You are eager to improve our design processes and are motivated to get the most out of the tools we use. You will be responsible for translating our client's brand identities to converting e-commerce platforms. Your designs will need to balance visual impact with industry standards and best practices, ensuring Ask Phill can help our clients to become more successful.

We're particularly excited to meet designers with web-development or no-code experience, with strong Figma skills and a passion for (AI) innovation. • Salary range: € 45.000 - € 60.000 gross a year (depending on level of expertise).

Tools you'll use

Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Jitter and no-code tools like Framer and Webflow

Job requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in UX/UI design for digital products

• Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional design work with implemented web projects

• Experience on the agency side as a digital designer

• Proven trackrecord in both UX and UI, with heaviness in UI design

• Fluent in Figma with strict implementation of Auto Layout, Components, Variables and (Text) Styles

• Understanding of component-based design and design- tokens/variables/systems

• Experience in crafting or building out brandbooks

• Strong in managing your own time and projects

• Up to date with Creative Industry trends and tools

• Proactive mindset and ability to work independently

• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and approaches

Additional useful experience

• Motion experience with modern tools like Jitter, Spline, Rive or Lottielab

• Knowledge of HTML, CSS and basic JavaScript

• Knowledge of accessibility standards and implementation

• Knowledge of e-commerce best practices and conversion optimisation would be appreciated

• Experience working with development teams to implement design and steer design vs. development challenges
