Job Description
As our Entry-Level Engineering Manager, you'll be coaching and mentoring our frontend developers, facilitating them to achieve their goals, while creating the best experience for our clients.
You’ll lead 2 squads/teams composed of 10 developers based either in The Netherlands or remotely. You'll have the opportunity to work with one of the most diverse Ask Phill teams! Coach will be your middle name, and you’ll also be responsible for recruiting and onboarding your next team members, making sure they feel welcome and excited to join the next project!
This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background in web/frontend development, preferably in Shopify, JavaScript and Next.js. or similar technologies. Do you also have an agency background? That’s a plus!
For this role, years of management experience are not needed, but we are looking for someone who has experience in coaching and managing team members.
Kindly note: This position is available to candidates based in the Netherlands or within the same time zone.
Responsibilities
Coach people and teams through continuous feedback, helping them reach the next stage in their careers.
Participate in recruitment and hiring, assessing candidate profiles, and conducting interviews.
Organise effective onboarding of new team members in collaboration with the People Team.
Stay ahead of industry trends and challenges, using your knowledge to develop strategic solutions that keep us competitive.
Create training plans for team members based on their individual needs.
Collaborate with other Team Leads and Engineering Managers on department-wide improvements.
Facilitate upskilling sessions to enhance the team’s e-commerce expertise and foster continuous learning.

Job Requirements
3+ years of experience in software development, preferably in Shopify, JavaScript and Next.js.
Experience leading and coaching a small-medium sized team
Familiarity with agile methodologies, particularly Scrum;
Excellent communication skills and looking forward to work with a multicultural team;
A passion for e-commerce and a desire to bring new ideas and perspectives to the team.
