Job description

As our Head of Marketing, you will further create and execute a long-term marketing strategy that’s targeted towards Ask Phill’s key client personas. You will not only lead the marketing team, but also take the lead in campaigns across multiple channels including: social media, email and SEO.

In your role, you will provide mentorship to Kelly, our Event & Partnerships Manager, Alexine, our Content Marketer, and Antonia, our Social Media Specialist. Under your guidance, this talented trio will elevate our marketing campaigns, crafting memorable events and compelling content that resonates strongly with our audience. Your leadership will be instrumental in guiding them through their career progression, ensuring that our initiatives not only captivate but also genuinely engage our target demographic.

In close collaboration with our sales team, you'll harness their insights to design campaigns that deeply resonate with potential clients, effectively driving lead generation and nurturing prospects throughout the sales funnel. This synergy ensures our marketing efforts are precisely aligned, capturing the attention and interest of our target audience and maximizing the effectiveness of our lead generation strategies.

For this role, years of management experience is not needed, but we are looking for someone who has experience in coaching and managing a team before. The ideal candidate has a background in B2B marketing, is familiar with the Shopify platform, and has a solid grasp of the ecommerce landscape, including its current trends and future directions.

Responsibilities

  • Coach and mentor the marketing team

  • Lead Ask Phill’s long-term (inbound) marketing strategy.

  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators for the marketing team and create reports that provide insights into marketing team performance.

  • Take charge of the marketing team’s budget

  • Build, execute and optimise all marketing campaigns.

  • Develop and fine-tune channel-specific strategies to maximise our brand presence.

  • Analyse campaign data to improve future performance levels, specifically lead conversion.

  • Identify ecommerce trends and translate these into successful marketing campaigns.

  • Assess and identify gaps in the Ask Phill marketing strategy to recommend and initiate improvements.

  • Manage and update brand guidelines to maintain distinctiveness in a high growth environment.

Job requirements

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in managing a team, preferably in an agency setting.

  • Experience in a B2B marketing role.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to inspire and motivate a team.

  • Proven success creating engaging B2B marketing campaigns, preferably for both short and long-term goals.

  • Proficiency in using tools such as Google Analytics, or similar platforms to monitor and evaluate campaign performance, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions. 

  • Excellent team player - collaborative and skilled at building relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Current knowledge of online marketing channels, including email marketing, SEO, and social media.

  • Familiarity with marketing automation platforms like HubSpot, including the ability to set up automated campaigns, segment audiences, and analyze performance metrics.

Additional useful experience

  • Experience planning, executing, and analyzing A/B tests to optimize email campaigns, and other marketing initiatives

  • proficiency in implementing and managing tracking codes, tags, and pixels using Google Tag Manager to capture relevant data for analysis.
